Letters from Charles W. Wentz at Fort Canby, New Mexico, to Augustus C. Dodge, Burlington, Iowa, relating to his brother, Captain H. L. Dodge's service as agent to the Navajos and his death at the hands of Mangus Coloradas, a leader of the Apaches; including a memorial item, a clipping on the death of Coloradas, and copies of reports regarding the "Navajo Expedition" in New Mexico relating the deaths of two men at the hands of Indians in 1860 and 1863.
